Our Process

Our ProcessOK, admit it!

You had your IT department or your nephew Herby do your first Web site. Now you are ready to get serious about developing an aggressive Web strategy but you are not sure the amount of time and resources it will take.

Usually the first question is, "How much is this going to cost in time and money"? Good question. However it is impossible to give a number until we have an opportunity to do an Internet Business Analysis (IBA). What we CAN tell you is that a well conceived Web strategy should not cost you anything. That's right.

There are enough technologies, methodologies, collaborative tools being deployed on the Web that a well designed strategy and implementation should yield enough revenue or cost savings to pay for itself in a year or two. Could it getValue Cycle any simpler?

OK, for the others out there that just have to know, here is an outline of the process we call ValueCycle at Market Pipeline.

  • At the first meeting we do an Internet Business Analysis (IBA) to determine the best approach to an aggressive Web strategy. We do not use the term aggressive lightly. When we engage a client our goal is to dominate your space on the Web.
  • We will come back with a SIMP, a Strategic Internet Marketing Plan. At that point you have invested about 2 hours into a plan that could redefine your business. We have invested about 6 to 7 hours into this process. You can do with the information whatever you wish.
  • If you do chose to use Market Pipeline we start the process with a Kick-Off Meeting. This meeting will help manage your expectations and ours. We will help you develop a strong list of keyword phrases that we will research and use to help the search engines find your site. We will find out your likes and dislikes concerning graphics.
  • We will come back with a graphic concept for your Web site and help you develop a Functional Design Specification (FDS). You have now spent about 4 to 5 hours developing a plan that could change the course of your business. Not bad...huh?
  • At this point we need your help. Now, before Market Pipeline can begin the development of your Web site, we need all of the content. Typically most businesses already have the entire content ready to insert into a new Web site. All the content might be on the current site or it has already been created in sales brochures, catalogs, etc. To make sure we get your site launched on your timetable it is critical you gather all content together. If you have lots of products we will work with you to develop an easy method, usually a spreadsheet, to deliver the information.
  • We will then go away for a while. Of course, you are welcome to stay in touch. But we will be busy in the Build process of your Web site. If your Web site has some complex database features then the Build process will take longer than a simple Web site.
  • Once we develop your Web site and insert most of your content we are ready to have you view your Web site on our development servers. We can do this at your office on your machine. We have specific staff members who will then run check lists on the Web site and test functionality. Market Pipeline will run a report called SiteScan which is our report card. SiteScan tells us if your Web site is compliant with W3C standards. We will also Test the site on different operating systems and different browsers to make sure it does not break.
  • Market Pipeline will then Launch your Web site on a "live" server.

Now...that was not so bad, was it?

Now the Track process of ValueCycle begins. This is the part our clients' love. This is where the person that wrote the check actually sees what he is getting for his money.

One of the major differentiating elements of the Web versus "old" media is the ability to track and measure results. You know the ‘ol saying in Business School, "If you can't measure it you can't manage it". Well, let me tell you!

The Web, especially Web 2.0, is a Marketing Manager's dream. You can measure more stuff than you can image. Typically Market Pipeline will send you easy to read monthly reports that show exactly how your predefined marketing goals are performing. This allows Market Pipeline, along with you, to continually adjust and improve your Web marketing efforts.
